DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe International Airport – Transfer to Kampala City  

Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be welcomed by our company representative and safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel reserved for you in Kampala. The 10 days game viewing combined with gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari briefing will be done right before dinner at the hotel where you will be spending the night. The next early morning we begin this adventurous safari you have all been preparing for.

Day 2: Kampala City – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast begin the panoramic drive northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle, en-route stop to visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary the only place in Uganda where you can meet these members of the big five family in the wilderness, This visit will provide you with an opportunity to go closer to these peaceful giants to have clearer view and photo moments, have lunch and drive to Murchison Falls National Park Uganda’s biggest national park.  Dinner and overnight

Day 3: Murchison Falls NP – Morning game drive – Afternoon boat cruise – Evening hiking to top of the falls

Enjoy breakfast and head out for your morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, caped buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reed buck, hyena and leopard. Retire for your lunch and later go an afternoon boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’, marvel at the toothsome hippos, home of Nile crocodiles and numbers elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob will be seen. This is also a zone of many bird species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Relax for few minutes and hike to top of the falls to witness the whole Nile squeeze through a narrow gorge of about only 7 meters wide and exploding into violent waterfalls into a whirlpool about 43 meters below. The sight of this world’s strongest waterfall is breathtaking. Dinner and an overnight

Day 4: Murchison Falls NP – Morning game drive – Transfer to Kibale Forest NP – Evening nature walk to Bigodi swamp  (441 km)

After breakfast check out, drive to Kibale Forest National Park with a morning game drive en-route, estimated transit time is approximately 7 hours with frequent stops to stretch legs the drive will take you through little towns and villages as you observe the African rhythm of life. On arrival, check in at your preferred accommodation to relax and later go for Bigodi sanctuary swamp evening nature walk. Kibale forest national park is proudly known to have the greatest variety of primates in Africa the most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, our closest relative also a home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey, black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Morning Chimp Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning you will have breakfast and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for briefings about dos and dots during chimpanzees tracking the forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and other primates but also on small organisms making the walk more interesting. Other primates to meet includes Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, lhoestes, bush baby to mention but few. Return to lodge for refreshments, lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the park is nestled between two great Lakes “George and Edward” with the kazinga channel joining the two, its lush Savannah offers prime grazing ground to many wildlife such as African buffaloes, African elephants and various antelopes, it is also a home to over 600 bird species. Drive straight to your lodge for check in and spend the entire evening relaxing at the lodge’s swimming. Dinner and overnight

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Early Morning game drive – Afternoon Boat cruise – Evening community walk

Early rise today, 06:00am grab your breakfast and out to catch the lions, hyenas still in the field hunting before they disappear into the thickets. Other animals to see on the game drive are; cape buffalo, the handsome Uganda Kob, warthog, elephant, leopard, waterbuck. Have a short break for lunch and take a boat cruise safari on Kazinga channel a haven to over 600 bird species, hippo, crocodile, Cape buffalo. Return to the lodge dinner and an overnight

Day 7:Queen Elizabeth NP – Morning game drive through Ishasha sector – Transfer Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP

Wake up to have breakfast before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park a home to the half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas with a game drive through Ishasha sector to search for the amazing tree climbing lions and after collecting memories here continue with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park for the thrilling mountain gorilla experience, lunch, relax and go for an evening village walk or souvenir shopping from the local craft shops if time allows. Dinner and overnight

Day 8: Bwindi National Park – Morning gorilla trekking –Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for evening canoeing

After breakfast, head to the information center for a briefing before embarking on the long awaited activity. Gorilla trekking may last only  for 3 hours or up to 8 hours or more of the day sometimes with rain overhead so be prepared with sturdy hiking boots, waterproof jacket. After a satisfactory trek, return to lodge for a well-deserved hot shower, lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for evening canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park – Evening nature walk or biking safari 

After breakfast with great memories of mountain gorillas depart Lake Bunyonyi heading to Lake Mburo National Park the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. On arrival to the park enjoy the drive en route to the overnight accommodation. Wildlife here include: the elusive leopard, jackals, hyenas, zebra and the newly introduced giraffes among others. Have lunch relax as you are viewing the vegetation cover of the park and then go for evening nature walk and this the best park for nature walking since it the park with few with few predators. Day 10: Lake Mburo N.P – Morning horseback riding – Entebbe international airport

Wake up for breakfast before going out for horseback riding safari– a nature walk on horses for 2 hours in the park accompanied by an armed ranger will be one of the best since you get opportunity to get closer to the inhabitants of the park and photo moment. Return to lodge for another set of breakfast and then embark on the drive to Entebbe international airport with a stopover at Kayabwe equator cross point for water experience and to buy souvenirs, have lunch and drive to Entebbe international airport to meet your return flight with great experience of mountain gorilla.
