This 3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Safari is prepared to take you though Kibale Forest National Park located 320 Kilometers from Kampala (Capital City). The Park is situated 26 kilometers southwest of the town of Fort Portal and about an hour’s drive from Kasese town. Kibale Forest National Park is a haven to about 13 different species of primates. Among them are chimpanzees, Red-tailed Monkeys, Baboons and Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Bush baby makes Park an ideal for primate watching. Our 3 Days Chimpanzee Safari begins and ends in Entebbe international airport, Uganda’s main entry by air. This tour will take you to Kibale Forest National Park – one of the most visited Parks for Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda and Africa. The Park has one of the most beautiful tropical forest in the whole of Uganda offering some excellent opportunities for primate and bird watching and a good habitant for big and small mammals such as leopards, bush pigs, elephants among other. The safari will also take you to visit Bigodi swamp sanctuary for a nature walk tour.
DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Entebbe International Airport –Transfer to Kampala, capital city of Uganda
Accommodation:
You will be picked from Entebbe international airport by our company representative with a driver guide for a transfer to reserved hotel in Kampala for relaxation with a glass of fresh juice, briefings about the entire tour dinner and an overnight. If time allows go for evening Kampala city tour but to visit some of the Uganda’s most historical places such as the royal Kasubi tombs, Uganda national museum, Uganda martyrs’ shrines etc.

Day 2: Kampala city – Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Sanctuary evening Nature Walk
After breakfast our safari driver guide will pick you up from your hotel at 0700 Hours and drive south west via Fort portal to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive will take approximately 5-6 hours. As you drive along the way you will enjoy the scenery and see Ugandan’s way of life in their traditional homesteads and farms. Have lunch from Fort Portal town and take an evening a visit to Bigodi swamp sanctuary for a nature walk which may gift you with a chance to see over 229 species of birds, different tree species, and other small animals within the wet tropical forests of the park. Plus also different primates such as, blue monkeys, baboons and a variety of birds. Return back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Kibale Forest National Park – Morning chimp trekking – Drive to Kampala
Enjoy a cup of tea/ coffee in the morning then transfer to the ranger station by 0700 Hours. At the station you will have a short briefing about Chimpanzee trekking tour. Chimpanzee tracking can take is a half a day activity. As you walk in the forest there are also other primates you will see.
You will get to see them forage in the forest for fruits etc. Your guide will provide information as you walk. During the walk you will stop occasionally to listen to the calls of the chimps as you look for them in the dense forest.
Other animals and primates that may be seen include; black and white Colobuses, the rare L’hoest monkey, bush baby, baboons and mammals like elephant, butterflies can be seen. Bird lovers will have a chance to spot various species of birds like the rumped tinker birds among other. Come back at the hotel for lunch and relaxation. Then depart for Entebbe international airport to meet your return flight.
