DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport – Transfer to Kampala city for an overnight

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be welcomed by our company representative and safari driver guide for a transfer to your reserved hotel in Kampala. The 7 days chimpanzee tracking, game viewing, tree climbing lions and mountain gorilla trekking briefings will be done before dinner at the hotel where you will be spending your night. The next early morning we begin your adventure safari.

DAY 2: Kampala City – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Sanctuary Evening Nature Walk 

After breakfast our safari driver guide will pick you up from your hotel at 0700 Hours and drive south west via Fort portal to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive will take approximately 5-6 hours as you drive along on the way you will enjoy the scenery and see Ugandan’s way of life in their traditional homesteads and farms. Have lunch from Fort Portal town and take an evening visit to Bigodi swamp sanctuary for a nature walk which may gift you with chances to see over 229 tree species of birds, different tree species, and other small animals within the wet tropical forests of the park, plus many different primate species such as, blue monkeys, baboons and a. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 3: Kibale Forest National Park – Morning Chimpanzee Trekking -Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning you have breakfast then transfer to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for briefings before setting off for a forest walk in search for “The intelligent chimpanzees”. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it more interesting the walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, lhoestes, and butterflies. After chimpanzee go back to the lodge for refreshments, lunch and start the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the park is nestled between two Great Lakes, George and Edward with the kazinga channel joining the two, its lush Savannah offers prime grazing ground for the African buffaloes, African elephants and various antelopes, the parks hosts over 600 bird species, on a clear day there are chances of viewing the mountains of the moon the “Rwenzori” and its snow peak. Drive straight to the lodge to check in, the entire evening time of this day will be spent relaxing at the lodge and you may decide to swim or massaging and enjoying steam bath.

DAY 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park- Morning Game drive – Afternoon Boat cruise – Evening nature walks to explore the crater lakes.

After your morning coffee, head out for your morning game drive to look for the wildlife on Kasenyi track of the park, common sightings here are; elephant, warthog, waterbuck, kob, leopard, lions, hyena, buffalo and so much more. Have a short break for refreshments and some snacks, then drive to Katwe fishing and salt mining village to witness the local salt mining procedures. In season, you will see plenty of flamingos in this part of the park. Have lunch and go for an afternoon boat cruise on the well-known Kazinga Channel where you will get to see schools of hippos due to the fact that the channel has the highest concentration of hippos in Africa and it is also a great place for birders to enjoy most as and watching hundreds and hundreds of birds on the shores, you can easily identify over 40 species while on the boat cruise. Hippos, Birds, Crocodiles Elephant herds, Buffaloes, and Antelopes can be seen in plenty on the shores of Kazinga Channel. After a boat cruise drive to the crater lakes, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

DAY 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning game drive through Ishasha sector –Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park 

After breakfast and with bags ready head out to the Ishasha sector of the park that is famous for its tree-climbing lions, spend few hours looking for the tree climbing lions and afterwards continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park the home of famous endangered mountain gorillas. A magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, this ancient rainforest -one of the few in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age -is home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Check in and have lunch, relax or go for an evening village walk and shopping at the craft market before dinner. At an altitude of up to 2,607 meters (8553ft). Expect some cooler temperatures in the evening.

DAY 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Morning Gorilla trekking –Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi 

After breakfast, head to the information center for briefings before embarking on your long awaited activity Gorilla tracking which may last from 3 hours up to 8 hours or more of the day. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is surely the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. Enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. Return to lodge for a well-deserved hot shower, lunch then after you leave the mountain giants and drive to Lake Bunyonyi where over 200 bird species have been recorded. “Bunyonyi” actually means “the place of many little birds” Lake Bunyonyi is one of the few African lakes completely safe for swimming.

DAY 7: Lake Bunyonyi – Drive to Entebbe international airport via Kampala 

Our 7 days gorilla, Chimpanzee trekking and a visit to Lake Bunyonyi tour ends with a drive back to Entebbe international airport, with an en-stop at the equator cross line point, this is an imaginary line which dissects the globe into two, participate in the water experiment where you will see how water movement changes when either south, north or along the equator line, take photos and shop for gifts at the equator. Continue with the drive to Entebbe to meet your return flight.
