This 3-day safari package comprises a comprehensive range of wildlife-based activities in Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. Enjoy beautiful scenic views, a launch cruise on the Nile and plenty of natural adventures.
At 7: 00 am, in the morning, our guide will pick you from your hotel and drive north to the most beautiful protected park in Uganda. En route we will stop over at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the proud home reserve of Uganda’s only wild rhinos. Sadly, Uganda’s own rhino population became extinct in the 1980s but thanks to the sanctuary we have healthy population of (reintroduced) rhinos. Zziwa is also a good destination for bird lovers who can look out for the rare Shoebill. (However, our stop at Zziwa will not be long and you have a good chance of seeing the Shoebill in Murchison).
After tracking the rhinos on foot, proceed to the historical town of Masindi for a late lunch and arrive at your lodge in Murchison before the sun sets.
After an early breakfast at 6:00am. we will go for a game drive that will leave you thrilled with amazing savannah plains and wildlife species such as warthogs, bushbuck, Defassa waterbuck, Bohor reedbuck, Oribis, Warthog, elephants, Uganda kob, Jackson’s hartebeest, buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas, among others. Early morning is the perfect time to spot the early risers before they return to their hideouts. At the base of the Falls, (optional activity) take a 45-minute hike to the Top of the Falls for splendid views of Murchison and Uhuru Falls. Your driver guide will be waiting at the Top of the Falls to drive you back to the lodge.

The diverse birdlife includes African Pitta, yellow-footed flycatcher, Ituri batis, white-thighed hornbill, Puvel’s Illadopsis and Chocolate-backed Kingfisher. Keen eyes may spot mammals like elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. (Optional) Budongo is also famous for its chimpanzee population, and you have a good chance of seeing them when you book the chimpanzee tracking activity. Our closest relatives live in families and their boisterous nature makes them both fascinating and entertaining. This activity would need to be booked well in advance.
After the activities, continue your return drive to Kampala with lunch enroute or Entebbe airport. The tour will end when our driver returns you to your drop-off point.
