This adventurous tour leads you through the Lush tea and coffee estates from the Laikipia Plateau to the Samburu National Reserve which has a few rare species of wild animals like the Reticulated Girraffe, Grevy Zebra and Generuk Antelope just to mention a few. Then to the Ol Pejeta conservancy well known for the White Rhinos and also the only location in Kenya that habors Chimpanzees. Then to Lake Naivasha which is found in the Great African Rift Valley which houses a variety of wild life and topography and finally to the Maasai Mara which houses big cats especially the cheetahs. Surely you can’t miss out on such an exciting adventure.
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi; after you disembark off the flight and pass through immigration and customs formalities, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for overnight.
Depart after breakfast and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates, descending from the Laikipia Plateau to Kenya arid north. Proceed to your camp in Samburu National Reserve for check in and lunch. In the afternoon enjoy your first game drive in this reserve which is well known for spectacular scenery and wildlife not found in the south: Reticulated Giraffe, the rare Grevy Zebra with its large furry ears, the gerenuk Antelope standing on its hind legs to feed and Somali Ostriches with their distinctive blue legs.
After breakfast and afternoon game drives (or the choice of a full day game drive).You may see Elephants, Cheetah, Leopard, Eland, Oryx, Impala, Dikdik, Waterbuck and a variety of birds which are abundant with 365 species recorded, one for every day of the year. This lava plain includes a varied landscape of red dirt, thorn scrub, broken volcanic rock, dried riverbeds, steep hills and rocky outcroppings. Following the river’s curves, a forest of Doum Palms, Acacia and tamarind is a magical contrast of cool green. Other areas of the Reserve include the Uaso Nyiro River where crocodiles sun bath themselves on the banks.
Depart after breakfast and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is famous for not only being the home of the last standing 2 Northern White rhinos in the world, but also for its healthy population of both black and white rhino, all the big cats and the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. You will arrive in time for lunch and have a few hours at leisure before disembarking for the evening game drive.
After breakfast, you will make your way to Lake Naivasha, another of the lakes of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. Animal life abounds in this natural oasis, from hippo and buffalo wallowing among the papyrus reeds to giraffes nibbling the acacia, Colobus monkeys leaping from tree to tree and innumerate species of birds adding flashes of colour and exotic calls. You will arrive at lodge in time for lunch. Few hours at leisure before proceeding for a boat ride.
After breakfast, Drive to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve via the scenically beautiful Great Rift Valley and Narok. This enormous reserve is part of the vast Serengeti Plains, famous for its spectacular wildebeasts’ migration and is home to the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. You will arrive in time for lunch at your camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. You will drive through the reserve as you enjoy the Savannah with vast herds of wildebeests and zebras wandering across the grasslands. You will also have a chance to see other plain game like the Maasai Giraffe, Eland, Buffalo, Topi, and both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles. The enormous landscape of the Mara and its concentration of many varieties of game make it a fitting climax to your safari.
After Breakfast, depart the camp for a Fullday game drive, the day will be spent in the reserve driving across the plains in search for the great predators and perhaps even their cubs. On the plains you will come across enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopards hiding amidst acacia boughs. The reserve hosts the highest concentration of wild animals than any other park in the region. You shall transverse the reserve on unlimited game viewing drives in search for the big five and of other games with picnic lunches served at the reserve.
Enjoy breakfast before driving back via the Great Rift Valley to arrive in Nairobi at approximately 1400hrs. You will be dropped off at the designated place.
